During 2016 the Year 7 pupils of Norham will be taking part in the Junior Prince's Award delivered by Skillforce.  SkillForce is a national education charity dedicated to helping young people flourish through motivational mentoring and proven programmes tailored to students’ needs.

Unique to SkillForce, the Prince’s Junior Award is supported by HRH The Duke of Cambridge and The Standard Life Charitable Trust.

Norham pupils will participate on a rotation basis every fortnight. This programme focuses on developing character, resilience and problem-solving as well as fostering effective team-working through goal-setting, collaboration and evaluation.

Delivered by inspirational mentors and role-models, the Junior Prince’s Award focuses on team-building, leadership training and public service as well as highlighting the core values and life skills that enable young people to reach their potential whilst making a constructive contribution within their communities – courage, dedication, dependability, discipline, loyalty, resilience, respect and selflessness.

Norham pupils are relishing this opportunity and are in line to receive nationally recognised awards for sports leadership, navigation and first aid.  Danny Newman said "I can't wait to get started.  It sounds brilliant".
