Year 10 Norham pupils attended Wallsend Memorial Hall to take in the performance of Death at Dawn performed by the Cloud Nine Theatre Company. The pupils attended as part of their GCSE History course which proved to be a fantastic decision as it gave them a great insight and understanding as to what life was like in during the First World War. Furthermore the play was based on a true story around a young man from North Shields who deserted the army when he found true love whilst on the frontline. Funny, heart-warming and shocking this production enlightened our pupils into trench warfare and posed the question of whether it was correct to execute our own soldiers during the war.
