Pupils from Norham High School have used some of the proceeds from their recent Christmas Fayre to make a significant donation to the Make Christmas Special events on the 25th of December presenting their donation to Cllr Bell. The Norham High School Christmas Fayre was attended by hundreds of people from the community who bought a range of festive gifts produced by the pupils with guests entertained by the school choir and after the event the pupils decided that they should donate some of the proceeds from the fayre to the Make Christmas Special events. Make Christmas Special is now in its third year with a number of events held across North Tyneside on Christmas Day including a Christmas dinner and gifts for those who might be lonely at Christmas with the events supported by community and voluntary groups, churches and business. Commentating on the donation Head Teacher Lucy Roderick commented ‘ I am delighted that our pupils have decided to support these important events which are so special to those who attend on Christmas Day and who enjoy the dinner, company of others and the festivities on this special day. At Norham our pupils are always looking to see how they can contribute to their community beyond the school gates and this is further evidence of it’.
